If you know me well, you'd know that I would forget my head if it weren't attached to me. Sad truth. So, it was no surprise when we went on our impromptu camping trip last weekend with the Atwood's to Little Deer Creek Campground and as I was pulling in I realized I left our cooler with all of our food in it at home.
Shocker.
I was in the mood for an 80 minute scenic ride alone anyway. So much for going somewhere "close" so we could spend more time "camping". Whatever.
We still had fun, even with a very very very late dinner. Coyotes yipped through the night, the kids slept through the night, we went on the best jeep ride ever, and I managed to beat everyone in Yahtzee!!!!!

While sitting around the campfire a log popped and a spark landed on Dallas' leg. It scared Will and he exclaimed, "Oh no, Dad! Did you get cooked?" Love him.
I love summer. And impromptu camping trips.

sounds fun! i want to go camping! we even have an awesome camp trailer we havent used yet! you were always good at yahtzee. we need to get together sometime.
Spontaneity is the best when camping...except when ya forgot food, or something crucial for that matter. Brody and I always forget something- especially now with the kiddos. IT'S Hard sometimes! Fun pictures.

AMY, IM SOOO jealous! We're usually really good at the whole impromptu camping trip thing but this year, not so much!.. we always say we're going to try out the little deer creek campground but never have.. Hopefully we can go camping together sometime SOON!
Sounds like something I would do. And it gets worse the older you get. :)
