Love At First Lunge

Last weekend we went to Build-A-Bear for an early birthday party for Annie while Kristie was in town. You must first know that Annie LOVES stuffed animals. The obsession first began when she was sitting in her stroller in Moab and pulled herself up to a rack snatching this pink kitty from its perch:

It has rarely left her iron grip since.
So, in search of the perfect present for my sweet baby girl, I turned my sights to Build-A-Bear. We were able to go with Jenn and her daughter Alli, Kristie, Abby, Kallie, Sierra, Shanna and baby Thomas, as well as meeting Cami, Ty, Lauren, Alex, Nate and their friends the Thomas' (Mauri, Christine and Kenny).

Annie and I paced up and down the wall until she finally made her move- THE LUNGE. She wanted the tropical Hello Kitty (in spite of my coercing her toward the floppy eared bunny). So, tropical Hello Kitty it was! We stuffed her, dressed her, named her Miss Kitty, and took her home. It was fun to see how interested Annie is in her surroundings now. (She was pointing at the different outfits and shoes that caught her eye and snuggling her cat the whole time).

Now Annie just has to wait until her birthday so she can cuddle with Miss Kitty every night. Only a few more weeks baby girl! I'm in no rush for you to turn one.

As a side note, the cat's head his HUGE. Dallas calls the kitty "Heed".

Heed! Peelow! Now!

I can't wait to see the kids, but most of all I can't wait to see you, my friend!

Well this year flew by. I was there when she was only six days old. What? Yeah, that kitty's head is huge. I think I'll watch So I Married an Axe Murderer tonight.

Alyssa was my child that loved stuffed animals. She had a bed full. We have taken her to build-a-bear twice and I find it to be the most completely delightful place to take a child.

That sure is a huge "heed." It's funny how seeing pictures of Annies face all scabbed up is "normal." The look fits her well.
