Moral Dilemma

Today I visited our local friendly grocery store to purchase a few items. Will was in the cart, so I walked around to pay. The bagger loaded our groceries, and then I made my way out to the car. I put all of the groceries in my car when I noticed a lone, homemade caramel sitting in the bottom of the cart. It would appear that my perfectly innocent little Will decided he wanted a caramel when he was unattended on the other side of the cashier and lifted it off the table and into our cart. So, what do I do? Go back into the store and return the 33 cent caramel, or eat it and forget about it? What would you do?

Return it--WITH him. He probably won't remember it, but you will, and I know that I have to do those kinds of things for myself or else pretty soon I'll think it's okay to steal. Just kidding. But I can be such a slippery moralist that I have to keep a tight leash! :)

Amy,
I am an Edward fan...I try to tell myself that Jacob is better for her but I just can't. What do you think of Jacob? Have you seen who is going to play him in the movie?

P.S. I would eat the caramel and give the store 33 cents when you go back. :)

I would return it, as a matter of fact I have to do that myself. I left something in the cart underneith the carseat and did not see it untill I had all the kids loaded and went to put Paige in and there it was a bottle of Tylenol, so unload the kids, and go pay for it. It is not worth your integrity for 33cents. All your pictures and slide show are very cute.
Love,
Susan

Listen- I don't see the moral dilema here at all?! Of course, I think we all know what I would've done so really can my opinion count? I can't believe you even asked, oh well. Cute pictures and slide show!! Lets get together soon...

I would have to add it to the Wilson emergency food storage. Next time you should take Will down the tent isle :) Besides if my little one would have gotten hold of a carmel I wouldn't have had a chance to return it.

Will's is 18 months old -- he doesn't even know he did anything wrong! At this age, even telling him he shouldn't have taken it without paying for it, won't even make a difference -- he still won't get it.

I'd eat it, enjoy it, then the next time I'm at the grocery store when I'm checking out say, "My littly guy took a piece of this carmel last time that I didn't realize, so can you just ring in the price of that carmel on my bill this time." It's done and you feel better, and now you have a great story to hang over his head the rest of his life!!! :)
