The Flying Tomato

I know I wasn't the only one holding my breath last night watching the men's halfpipe finals at the Vancouver games. As Shaun White made his first straight air at the beginning of his run, I'm pretty sure my stomach went with it. I'm no expert, and it was easy for me to see why he is king of the sport. Shaun White made it look easy to flip around in all sorts of insane twists while soaring 20 feet in the air. It was insane. And awesome. And I was freaking out to watch him win gold!

My favorite part about the athlete? He seems so modest about everything. I also think his hair is part of his power; kind of like the biblical hero Sampson. 1 inch of hair equals soaring 1 ft in the air... Don't you think? Go Shaun. Go team USA. Go Olympics. Who doesn't like spending two weeks making a really nice bum-groove in their couch while glued to the television?

Amy, I love both posts. I didn't know you won that award! Ah, I remember those Movie Gallery days. The good old ones... :) It's always sad to see something change or go away. But sometimes not. When the Tasty's in Ogden closed, I cheered and ran a victory lap. But that's just because I worked there during the summer from Hell. And I digress. I am glad to know also that someone else is as OBSESSED with the Olympics as I am. I cannot get enough of them. COMPLETELY, totally hooked and glued to the screen. We do nothing but cheer on Ohno. Shaun White is fun, too.

Amen sista!!!! Besides the hair, my other favorite part about him was hearing him run around screaming USA! Gotta love it.

Our bum grooves are there also.
I thought the Japanese guy got some real air on his jumps until I saw Shaun. Amazing! How do people do that sort of thing?
Also loved the downhill section of Lindsay Vonn. She finished that run on one ski. Inspiring!
And I did love the speed skating relay. It looked like mass confusion until I figured out what all those skaters were doing. I know. I'm a little slow on the uptake.

I totally told Steve the same thing about him being like Sampson. Great minds think like us! He was freakin' awesome!

I love Shawn White as well. I have enjoyed watching the Olympics myself.
