Observations

I've been noticing some things lately, and maybe you have, too.

Have you noticed that everyone in the world is pregnant right now? Really. It seems like 75% of the blogs I look at have a strange floating baby in the corner announcing how many days (roughly) until the impending arrival of their newborn. Don't get me wrong; I'm a proud owner of that floating baby ticker. I'm just saying...
It must be my age.
Lucky for me, it just gives me more things to be excited about- because nothing is more exciting than a baby.

Also- have you noticed that the majority of shows on TV these days are reality based? Between The Bachelor, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, American Idol, and The Biggest Loser, I'm wondering if the sitcom hasn't already given up the ghost.

And what is the deal with the sheer amount of pharmaceutical commercials?! Have you noticed this?! I can't help but thing about how much money these drugs rake in.

Besides that, what has happened to good summer movies? Star Trek? Is that my only option? 'Nuff said.

And why, WHY?!, do schedules go out the window in the summertime? I'll tell you why- It's hard to convince a little boy that it is night time when there is still enough light outside for kids to be riding bikes and throwing balls around on the lawn. I remember feeling cheated as a kid when my Mom made me go inside to go to bed when Brandon Wilson (the neighbor, not the cousin) was outside lighting bottle rockets. Now I know why she did it- she needed a break. (Or maybe it could have been because bottle rockets are against the law. Either way, it's understandable).

This post was not meant to be a rant (although it seems to be taking shape as one, doesn't it?).

I've also noticed that people are friendlier when it's nice outside. If it's a really nice day, you might even get lucky enough to have a bagger at Smith's take your groceries out for you.

Music also sounds better with the windows in the car rolled down and the door to the house open.

It is also worth it to live in the mountains just so you can have the summer nights that we do.

Lastly, there's ladybugs. Ladybugs love my bushes in my backyard. I love ladybugs. Don't you?

Fortunately for everyone around me, I happen to be one of the 25% that AREN'T pregnant. Thank goodness.
And are you totally DYING about American Idol? I can hardly wait until tonight to see the final vote.
I don't really watch much TV at night because I find the creativity so lacking, but we are pretty much AI junkies.
And just in case you are wondering, YES, those drug companies are raking in a complete fortune. Just think about the fact that I pay $47 per month for Boyd's reflux medication and that is 25% of the cost. The insurance picks up the rest. 30 little yellow pills!!!
Ridiculous.
I can't believe you are so close to delivery.........exciting!!!

I was catching up on reading your blogs. So happy to hear that everything turned out okay with the little run away. I also love ladybugs and I cannot blame Will for not wanting to go in the house until it is dark. It is so lovely in the first days of the warm weather. I personally cannot get enough of it. Take care and say hi to the family. love you. bye now.

I agree with the pregnant thing. I know of more than 15 close friends or family alone that are expecting. I have to agree with the whole schedules things. Tyler hasn't been to bed on time in a while. Oh well, it's summer!

And you are right, music is better when the are windows rolled down.

What the heck is wrong with Star Trek? I mean really...sheesh! I conceed that you have the right to your opinion, and that I was really against going to see it at first. It was totally awesome though. There wasn't a single lull the whole movie and it was actually interesting! (can't say that for some of the other trek movies...you know which ones you are).

I have noticed that everyone is preggo too! Well except me thank goodness.

Oh and I am totally in love with ladybugs...aren't they just the best. Cadence I found some white ones up at the temple a couple of weeks ago! It was the best!
