Ah, Dallas.

Sometimes, well, most the time if I speak the truth, Dallas makes me laugh. Hard. Like today.

The following was said while shopping at Target:
Dallas: We're going to have a baby.
Me: Yes.
Dallas: Like, a real baby. Not a kid. A baby. One you have to carry around and everything.

While leaving said Target:
Dallas: Do you hear that baby crying?
Me: Yes.
Dallas: That's going to be you... at home... with a crying baby. And I'll be at work. (With a semi-smug smile on his face).

I do love him so.

Call me crazy, but do you want to know what one of the little joys in my life is? Pushing the spellcheck button and seeing the phrase "no misspellings found." I love that. I'm sure Kalie would appreciate it as well.

Monochromatic

I pulled my summer clothes out of the tote and washed and hung them up today. I think I might need to branch out a bit.

In Case You Need Some Good News

  • I saw the Ice Cream Truck last Friday at my friend Erin's house. This means it is summer. I remember wearing a little wrist pocket with $1.25 in it so I could buy the ice cream I wanted and I wouldn't be caught unprepared. (Thanks to Wendy Wilson for letting me use that all those years ago!)

  • I found out that I have so much extra credit in my History class that I could opt out of the final and get 94% in the class. (Which I still won't do because I have to get 95% to get an A, but that means I won't be studying hardly at all).

  • Sonic cream slushes cure any bad day.

  • So does the "Tigger Game" if you are a two year old.

  • This isn't really "good news" but it's funny and noteworthy: Will has now started making up excuses. Such as, "I can't do it. It's hard for me.", "I'm tired/sleepy/hungry" and last but not least "No Mommy! That's a bad idea!"

  • I finally saw a good movie! It has felt like ages. So, you should see Seven Pounds with Will Smith.

  • Osh Kosh is having their big $5 sale.

  • So is pretty much every other kid store at the Park City Outlet Mall.

  • And last but not least, I had the insight to make brownies yesterday. That means I get to go upstairs and have brownies and ice cream while I watch a free movie courtesy of Redbox. Ahhh, this is the life.

Saying Goodbye

When someone you love passes away, it is never easy to deal with. On Monday my Aunt Norma suffered a massive stroke at work. They were able to restart her heart on the way to the hospital, but she suffered severe brain damage. She passed away today, April 15th, after never regaining consciousness after the stroke.

Death makes your breath catch in your throat.

This Easter Sunday I was thinking about how incredibly blessed my family is. We are a part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When things started looking down at the beginning of this week, I weighed my blessings. Then, I came upon this post on someone else's blog; it is from a children's bible, and it's simple words told me all I needed to hear.

They nailed Jesus to the cross.

"Father, forgive them, " Jesus gasped. "They don't understand what they are doing."

"You say you have come to rescue us!" people shouted. "But you can't even rescue yourself!"

But they were wrong. Jesus could have rescued himself. A legion of angels would have flown to his side-if he'd called.

"If you were really the Son of God, you could just climb down off that cross!" they said.

And of course they were right. Jesus could have just climbed down. Actually, he could have just said a word and made it all stop. Like when he healed the little girl. And stilled the storm. And fed 5000 people.

But Jesus stayed.

You see, they didn't understand. It wasn't the nails that kept Jesus there.

It was love.

Christ indeed loves us. He lives. He rescued each one of us, and he broke the bands of death that each person on this earth will be able to walk again just as He does.

We'll miss you, Norma. No one could ever forget your smile, or how your laugh would burst from your chest infecting every person in the room. Until another day...

Good Old Fashioned Wyoming Easter

So what does a good old fashioned Wyoming Easter include???

Watching soccer games when there are still several inches of snow on the ground.

Coloring Easter Eggs in the mostly-buff.

And last, but certainly not least, killing raccoons in the late hours of the night.

Driving down the canyon with the windows down, good music on, and my hand flying out the window.

Welcome Spring.

Last Trimester

I've officially reached my last trimester. It feels really good to be this far along. In the last day or so I think the baby has rolled over so her legs and arms are facing my belly instead of my back. I literally feel CONSTANT movement and it is incredible. I feel really great right now... if only it would last.

Clothes hide so much of your belly during pregnancy... thank goodness.

I also had to throw this picture in of Will. He is with "Lightning's friends" as he calls them, and he is showing off his "racecar face". He cracks us up all day!
